Lesson Two – Office Hours and Dress Code

Let’s dive into more details of our daily operations here at Arcadia. Our office is open from Monday to Friday, 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. You can reach us at 416-977-0050. Now, we’d appreciate it if calls outside these hours are kept for emergencies. Think urgent health changes, sick calls, or if you can’t make it to a scheduled shift—anything that needs immediate action.

If you need to get in touch with the scheduler, you’ve got options—email, call, or a quick text message will all work.

Being punctual is key. When you’ve got a shift, aim to be at your client’s home at least 10 minutes early. Remember to clock in before your shift starts from outside the client’s home.

Now, we get it, things happen and you might run late. If that’s the case, give us a ring at least 30 minutes before your shift, so we can notify the client and manage expectations.

Arcadia’s dress code is scrubs.—any color will do, just make sure there’s no logo of a different company. Pair them up with closed-toe rubber sole shoes or sneakers.

We’d recommend having an extra scrub top on hand, just in case your client prefers you to change when you arrive. Keep your hair tidy and off the shoulders, and limit jewelry to a simple watch, ring, or stud earrings.

Oh, and let’s keep it fresh, but skip the strong scents—some of our clients have allergies to perfumes and body odor.

Preparation is key. Make sure to READ and get comfortable with the care plan. Otherwise, you will be lost and may not be able to meet the client’s expectations. It is important to review the client’s care plan a day before your shift so that you’ll be aware of the tasks that need to be performed.

Clocking in and out is all on you. Arrive 10 minutes early to clock in using the Axis Care app. And remember, phone usage during shifts is for emergencies only and with the client’s permission.

At the end of your shift, don’t forget to clock out using the Axis Care app, and submit a report that follows Arcadia’s reporting guidelines. It is mandatory to get client’s e-signature as well as your signature before clocking out on the Axis Care app.

Noticed a change in your client’s health or wellbeing? It’s crucial to report to the office and discuss with the client’s family. These are urgent matters we need to stay on top of.

Check in with your client, get to know their routine, and ask them what they want—it shows respect and builds trust.

Alright, knowledge check time!
